David Beckham spent more than 10 years in Manchester United, making 265 appearances and scoring 62 goals. Beckham won six Premier League titles while at United, the first one being in 1995. During his stay at United, he also won 1 UEFA Champions League, 2 FA Cups, 4 FA Community Shields, 1 Intercontinental Cup, and one FA Youth Cup.

Premier League was formed on February 20, 1992, after clubs in the Football League First Division decided to break away from the Football League, which was originally founded in 1888. Premier league is ranked as the first in the UEFA coefficients of leagues based on European competitions. Since the Premier League was incepted in 1992, only four clubs have won the title. These clubs are: Arsenal, 3 times; Blackburn Rovers, 1 time; Chelsea, 3 times; and Manchester United, 12 times.

Webb was announced as the referee to officiate the 2010 champions league on 20th May 2010. The final match was between Bayern Munich and Inter Milan. Inter Milan won the match 2-0. Earlier on, in February 2010, FIFA had confirmed Webb as a referee for the year's World Cup. It was on July 8, 2010 that FIFA announced that Webb would be the referee for the final match between Spain and the Netherlands. The tournament was held in South Africa
